Citizenship Services
Samoa Immigration is responsible for the delivery of several key services to Samoan citizens. Principle amongst these services is the processing of applications for, and the issuance of travel documents for Samoan citizens. Samoa Immigration is also responsible for the processing of citizenship applications from foreign citizens, in accordance with the Citizenship Act 2004.
Travel Documents
There are several types of travel documents available to Samoan citizens. Principal amongst these is the standard passport but Samoa Immigration also issues official and diplomatic passports and Documents of Identity as required. Individuals interested in obtaining travel documents need to be aware of the particular requirements for the different document types and how to make an application.
Samoa Immigration also offers travel document services to foreign citizens who are in Samoa in cases of emergency. Where travel documents have been lost or stolen, Samoa Immigration can, in cooperation with foreign counterparts, issue Certificates of Identity to allow foreign citizens to travel out of Samoa to their home countries. Samoan Citizenship
Foreign citizens may to make applications for Samoan citizenship if they meet the requirements. These criteria are available from the Division. All applications are processed by Samoa Immigration. Samoa Immigration is also the government agency responsible for actioning requests by Samoan citizens for Certificates of Citizenship and renunciation of citizenship.
